Jazz at Rondo Plaza offers outdoor jazz club complete with seating, tables, and professional sound system. Each month a different grouping of top local jazz talent will perform an early evening show. These summer shows are a highlight for nearby residents and an invite for others to visit for St. Paul's historic Rondo neighborhood. For Wednesday, July 24th, the featured artist will be the Jack Breen Ensemble. Jack is an emerging saxophone voice in the Twin Cities. Currently on faculty at Walker West Music School, Jack has performed with national artists such as artists Bill Carrothers, Mike Stern, Jose Encarnancion, stellar regional players such as Kevin Washington, Kavyesh Kaviraj, and Charlie Lincoln. Jack studied at Walker West with Felix James in 2004 His group blends classic jazz with new originals. The group has played venues and festivals throughout the area, most recently as the featured artist for the Rondo Community Music Series.
