Free Jazz Access concerts return to Rondo neighborhood. Experience an outdoor jazz club experience complete with seating, tables, and a professional sound system. This August 21st concert features saxophonist Ryan Freitas. Freitas is a career multi-instrumentalist, composer, educator, and producer. Based in Minneapolis after spending nearly a decade in Detroit, Freitas has worked with artists across genres, such as Lyle Lovett, Kem, and Jazz luminaries Rodney Whitaker and Vincent Chandler.
For this Jazz Access concert at Rondo Plaza Freitas will present the music from Joe Henderson's landmark album "In N Out", plus other selections from his songbook. Freitas will be joined by musicians Mitch Van Laar on trumpet, Joe Strachan on piano, Dan Carpel on bass, and Abinnet Berhanu on drums.
